Take care of your employees and they’ll take care of your business. ~ Richard Branson.
With an increase in companies looking into employee health and wellbeing you may be thinking how you can do this. Taking care of your team goes beyond a decent pay packet, it's about truly understanding the importance of a healthy, calming and positive working environment. This attitude will deliver far better results combined with exciting incentives and a strong team behind you.
Fortunately, we're experts when it comes to wellness thanks to our 5 star spa run by experts in the industry so you needn’t search the World Wide Web to find ways of taking care of your team, I have done all the hard work for you! Here are my top suggestions for Employee Wellbeing:
Give them time
Allow time away from the office for guests to socialise and avoid talking about work. We can become so easily trapped in the bubble of work and it's incredibly unhealthy. Encouraging time out will help your employees to unwind.
You could arrange a team building event that promotes relationship building and involves the whole team. Why not consider the Crystal Challenge with The Teambuilding Company? It works perfectly in our field or can be moved inside if needs be.
Most importantly with this is to have fun! ‘Laughter is the best medicine’ and there are plenty of events that are focused purely around fun; Chocolate making or a bespoke wine tasting with our Head Sommelier, Michael Driscoll for example. These kinds of activities make perfect add-ons to your meetings to help the team calm their busy minds after an intense few hours.
Supercharge your employees
With the fast pace of life it's even more important now to feed your brain with the food it needs to keep up. Avocados, carrots, water and berries are just some of the important 'brain food' recommended by experts to keep the 'juices flowing' when needed. Keep your delegates productive even after lunch with healthy, colourful and filling meals.
Taking this into account we are delighted to have teamed up with Spring Green London who offer ‘fresh, nutrient-rich, multitasking foods’ to satisfy your hunger and give your body the boost it needs to keep going. These fabulous menus can be offered for lunch and a personal favourite is the beetroot burger and breakfast, try the avocado smash! Head Chef, Alastair Craig, can also provide healthy alternatives for morning and afternoon breaks.
Look after their wellbeing
As mentioned previously, we are fortunate to work alongside industry experts such as Lina Lotto, our Spa Director. Lina and her team have implemented their extensive knowledge into SenSpa making it the highly successful New Forest spa that it is today. So we know exactly what works in terms of calming the mind, body and soul.
From seated massage during your meeting breaks to private meditation or relaxation classes, these kinds of activities will work wonders for your team, clearing the mind of noise and enabling them to focus on the task in hand. Thanks to our enchanting surroundings you could even participate in a relaxing meditation session on the lawn under the warm sunshine - inhale the fresh forest air which will increase concentration. Or, if you are a more active group you could do a fitness class to get your delegates up and moving.
Happiness is a choice
Such as the title of this blog 'happy employees, happy business', it really is important to keep your team happy and spirits high in order to get the best out of people. Justifying time away from the office does not necessarily have to be business related, how about just a well deserved break for you and your team?
Arrange a few options and let the team decide what they want to do. I would recommend:
- A guided cycle tour with New Forest Activities. A great way to explore the forest and meet the local New Forest ponies, you might even see a highland cow or a donkey!
- A rib blast across the Solent. An exhilarating way to see the coast line from the Spinnaker Tower to the needs on the Isle of Wight.
- Treat them to a treatment in the SenSpa; the Essential Relaxation massage is brilliant for releasing tension, anxiety and stress.
"Healthy, engaged employees are your top competitive advantage. No matter how good your business model is or products are, you still need a stellar team to design, build, improve, sell and service them." - Richard Branson
