Don't tell your mother!

10th May 2018

If you’re looking to celebrate Father’s Day in dad style this year, then here at Careys Manor we have the perfect way to do just that.

We are offering a gentleman’s afternoon tea in our elegant Cambium restaurant, and a Father’s Day lunch at the quirky French bistro and bar Le Blaireau.

Careys Fathers Day Afternoon Tea

The Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea is full of dad’s favourite teatime treats.  Gone are the dainty cucumber sandwiches and delicate pastries – instead, dad can tuck into a hearty selection of satisfying savouries, including pork pies, venison sausage rolls and Welsh rarebit. This is followed by a choice of open sandwiches, favourite cakes like chocolate, lemon and poppy seed, and parkin, traditional scones with lashings of jam and clotted cream, and a choice of loose-leaf teas and fair-trade coffees.

To really make dad’s day, the special event is sponsored by local brewery Downton, which will be providing a selection of craft ales to complement the savoury fare. The award-winning Wiltshire brewery is the home of real ales including Quadhop, New Forest Ale, Dark Delight, Honey Blonde, Chimera IPA, Roman Imperial Stout and Endeavour double IPA.

The Gentleman’s Afternoon Tea will be served on June 17 from 2pm until 5pm, and costs £29 per person.

For Parisian-loving papas, book a table at Le Blaireau, and you’ll be treating dad to delicious French food in brilliantly quirky surroundings.

An all-French wine list complements a menu filled with classic regional French dishes, and a special three-course menu of dishes from the Loire Valley has been created for Father’s Day.

Starters feature rich treats like pork rillettes pate with a toasted muffin, and asparagus with a sauce mousseline, and main courses include traditional beef casserole with mushrooms and buttered linguini, and a fillet of seabass with a samphire butter sauce. Choose between puddings of warm apple tart or Chocolate Nemesis, or plump for a selection of French cheeses.

There will also be a Father’s Day raffle, with a chance to win a hamper filled with French delicacies.

The Le Blaireau Father’s Day lunch costs £28.95 per person, and is the perfect time to sit back, relax, raise a beer and toast ‘a votre sante’ to dad.

We are not going to tell you again…
