images The staff of Careys Manor Hotel believe that free-range organic produce is not just better, because of its purity and freedom from additives but because it tastes a lot better too.

We also believe it is important to know where our produce comes from to help maintain the sustainability of local produce and ensure quality.

Careys Manor Hotel is dedicated to using seasonal, free-range ingredients sourced from carefully selected local suppliers.

Many of our suppliers carry the New Forest Marque, identifying authentic New Forest fare of the highest quality.

Some of the New Forest suppliers that we use include: Owls Barn Farm meat, Lyburn Farm cheese, Clayton Eggs, Merry Orchard Mushrooms and the Eling Tide Mill Flour.

Green Policy

As part of the Green Tourism Business Scheme, we are taking firm steps to being an environmentally friendly, sustainable hotel.

We continue to maintain a respect for natural resources through water and energy conservation and material reuse, purchasing recycled materials and using recyclable packaging and other materials where possible.

Some of the steps we are taking to become a 'Greener' Hotel

	Green Tariff electricity used in the hotel - supplied from wind farms
	Loft insulation has been replaced for more efficient insulation
	Light bulbs are replaced with energy saving versions where feasible
	Reverse air cycle Air Conditioning installed into 75% of bedrooms and all Conference Suites generating more efficient room temperature control.
	Window and door sensors installed into all rooms with Air Conditioning so when open, the Air Con system becomes inoperable
	Water butts used to recycle rain water for use on the gardens
	Bird baths and feeders are tended to, to encourage wildlife
	New Forest Trust partnership £1 from a nominated dish off our menu is donated
	Discount scheme on our standard rates when travelling to hotel by public transport
	Green Team in place to drive green initiatives and push for continual improvement
	Responsible purchasing of food Local, Free-range and Organic
	Suppliers asked to take back and re-use packaging where feasible
	SenSpa Organic Therapy products are produced using certified organic ingredients without synthetic ingredients or preservatives in recyclable glass with the minimum of packaging
