Receptionist
Type – Full time, permanent (weekly rota incorporating evening and weekend shifts across 5 days)
Reports to – Reception Manager
Location – Careys Manor Hotel is located in the beautiful village of Brockenhurst, nestled between the New Forest National Park and the Solent. It is situated 5 minutes’ walk from Brockenhurst Village and train station with excellent rail links to Bournemouth, Southampton and London. With 77 plush bedrooms and suites, the award-winning SenSpa and 3 onsite restaurants, we pride ourselves on our friendly staff and attentive service.
A Summary Of The Job
The role of the Receptionist is to extend warm and professional assistance to guests from the moment they arrive at the hotel. Providing excellent levels of guest care, creating memorable experiences and exceeding expectations is an essential part of this role.
This is an excellent opportunity to work at an award winning hotel and would suit someone looking to make use of their existing customer service skills and develop a career in hospitality.
Main responsibilities
- Work flexibly as part of the team
- Complete check-ins, check-outs and reservations, confidently and competently using the hotel’s PMS system, Opera
- Communicate with knowledge of our facilities, acting as an ambassador for the hotel and spa, the New Forest and its attractions.
- Identify opportunities to subtly upsell our services & products
- Liaise with other departments/managers and communicate information to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
- Ensure front of house areas and the property presents well at all times
- Ensure security is maintained in respect of money, keys, guest and hotel property
Our ideal candidate:
- Will have a real passion for customer service and a focus on the guest experience
- Must be friendly and engaging and possess excellent communication skills
- Must be highly organised with a keen eye for detail
- Must possess the ability to adapt to changing situations
- Must have a good understanding of the English language
- Will have experience of hotel software such as Opera/Fidelio (advantageous but not essential)
