This year, National Vegetarian Week – May 13-19 – aims to highlight the benefits of going meat-free and celebrate delicious veggie food. It's an excellent way to do your bit for the environment and introduce more healthy vegetables into your diet.
Eating out can be a challenge for a vegetarian as many consider tasty dishes hard to come-by but Careys Manor is a vegetarian friendly hotel with selection of vegetarian and vegan menus at all three of our onsite restaurants.
Authentic French bistro, Le Blaireau’s vegetarian menu features starters such as a confit of artichoke with roasted butternut squash and lemon dressing as well as grilled asparagus. Main courses consist of leek and mushroom crepes with spinach coulis in addition to, vegetable skewers with quinoa and tomato.
Thai palace-inspired Zen Garden restaurant, offers an exotic vegetarian menu with locally-sourced organic ingredients. Main courses include Pak Phad Phrik Thai, a stir fry of mixed vegetables, New Forest mushrooms, spring onion, cracked black pepper and soya sauce. Priew Warn Tofu describes sweet and sour tofu, pineapple, mushroom, tomato, bell pepper and cucumber.
Head chef at Cambium restaurant Alistair Craig has crafted a bespoke menu with offerings such as broccoli and sunflower seed tortellini, and salt baked root vegetables with goats cheese and toasted seeds.
His vegan afternoon tea sees delicious treats such as a chocolate mousse, seasonal fruit slice and coconut milk truffle served alongside open and finger sandwiches, a traditional afternoon tea with a twist!
