Night Porter (Part time)
Type – Part time (18 hours per week), with a rota operating on 2 out of 7 days per week, including weekends.
Reports to – Reception Manager

The Night Porter is an important member of the Front of House team and will maintain Careys Manor Standards of Excellence in all areas supervised during the night shift.
Main Responsibilities:

Check-in late arrivals and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner

Park guest cars and inform them of the parked location

Show guests and carry luggage to their rooms promptly

Deal with requests in an efficient and courteous manner

Ensure stored luggage is correctly labelled and securely held at all times

Maintain awareness of arrivals and scheduled functions/events

Assist in the set-up of conference rooms if required

Provide a support service to bar staff in provision of beverages to guests and conferences

Have comprehensive knowledge of hotel facilities and local attractions, correctly communicating these to guests

Maintain a professional and high-quality service-oriented environment, ensuring four-star standards are adhered to at all times

Maintaining high standards of public areas within the hotel grounds and property

Ensure all outlets have followed the night closing procedures and handover

Night audit and hotel safety/security – locking up and regular security checks

Act in accordance with the Hotel’s fire plan – responsible for the Fire procedures and quarterly night drills

Follow company procedures and guidelines

Have previous Front Office/Night work experience in a luxury property

Be personable, helpful and reliable

Have high levels of personal presentation

Have a real passion for customer service and desire to exceed customer expectations

Be flexible and committed to working in a team environment

Demonstrate ability to adapt to changing situations

Have a good understanding of the English language (spoken and written)
