Food & Beverage Supervisor – Cambium Restaurant

Type – Full time, permanent. 40 hours over 5 out of 7 days, including weekends.

Reports to – Cambium Restaurant Manager

Location – Careys Manor Hotel is a luxury four-star hotel and spa located in the New Forest National Park in Hampshire, England.

A Summary Of The Job

Cambium offers our diners cuisine to a three Rosette standard with emphasis on simplicity, exacting flavour combinations and exemplary presentation. We now require a passionate Food & Beverage Supervisor to join this small F&B team.  We pride ourselves on our friendly staff and attentive service.

We are seeking a forward-thinking Supervisor who will support the Restaurant Manager in delivering exceptional service for our guests. This role offers the variety of working in the hotel’s Cambium Restaurant alongside private functions, weddings, afternoon tea and corporate events.

You will have exacting standards and a keen eye for detail. In conjunction with the Restaurant Manager, your focus will be to build on the reputation of the restaurant whilst supervising the F&B team, overseeing weddings and banqueting, budgets and rotas.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Restaurant Manager in the day to day running of the department and manage, train and develop the team effectively, always maintaining four star standards
  • Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of service, standards and procedures, always looking at new ways of delivering exceptional customer service
  • Liaison with Head Chef/Restaurant Manager and other departments to ensure customer experience is seamless
  • Help to ensure that appropriate Health & Safety and company standards are consistently maintained, through training, monitoring and development, and updating operating procedures as required
  • Support and drive team objectives, briefing and focusing staff on shared goals, upselling opportunities and maintaining up to date knowledge
  • Handle customer complaints effectively and act upon any feedback
  • Be visible at all times during service
  • Maintain/update cleaning schedules for restaurant, service areas and public areas linked to restaurant, ensuring all areas are serviced, clean and tidy
  • Help to ensure the payroll is in accordance with budget
  • Have good product knowledge of menus/wine lists and company products

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Be a passionate individual with excellent spoken English, leadership skills and wine knowledge
  • Have relevant four star hotel or fine dining experience (two/three Rosette)
  • Have a high standard of personal presentation
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a flexible attitude
  • Be enthusiastic about building a strong rapport and team spirit

The role is full time (40 hours per week), with a rota operating on 5 out of 7 days per week. The hotel is situated 5 minutes’ walk from Brockenhurst Village and train station with excellent rail links to Bournemouth, Southampton and London.
