…to lose my mind and find my soul

John Muir

National Walking Month could not have come at a better time as we continue to embrace the wonders of forest therapy and all things Hygge at Careys Manor.

Aside from the physical benefits walking can do so much for the mind. Did you know a simple 10 minute walk can reduce signs of stress? So let’s head into the forest and discover the beauty of this magnificent National Park:

WOODLAND SAFARI

Home to 6,000 roaming ponies and so much more, embark on a woodland safari during your visit to the New Forest. The much adored Boldrewood walking route will take you to a viewing platform which is perfect for admiring these coy animals in their glory. Between 12:30 and 2:30pm is feeding time which provides plenty of opportunity to see the Fallow deer.

THE PUB CRAWL

The best part of your New Forest explorations is there are plenty of cosy country pubs along the way, so pop in for a tipple along the way – you are on holiday after all! A walking route we highly recommend is Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard. The route begins at our sister hotel, The Montagu Arms and leads you to the historical Bucklers Hard. This walk is approximately 4.5 miles making your tipple even more deserved.
