Jess and Luke tied the knot at Careys Manor Hotel on Sunday 22nd October 2017. Here's the story of their Fall wedding.
One miserable Monday evening at home back in August 2015. Luke's impromptu proposal certainly brightened the day!
Careys offered everything that we were looking for: a cosy setting that would suit our autumnal theme, a great wedding coordinator, and a wedding package that offered all that we needed to minimise stress leading up to the big day.
The dress was a beautiful Anna Sorrano chiffon mermaid gown with beaded lace cap sleeves and a low back. Thanks to my wonderful seamstress, we dropped the back a little further.
Luke wore a made-to-measure tweed suit from local tailors, Victor Valentine. The best man and groom both had a personalised message embroidered on the inside breast that hints at their love of sailing! Luke's shoes were Chatham tweed brogues.
Bridesmaids Hannah, Kitty, and Jo wore simple but elegant burgundy wine-coloured dresses from Belle Boutique UK. They offered plenty of styles in the same colour, but when given the choice, all three ladies went for the same dress!
The ceremony was held in The Lounge with many guests opting to sit on the comfy sofas around the edge of the room. We chose to use the Woodland decoration package offered by the hotel to enhance the rustic woodland feel.
Our wedding breakfast was held in the Manor Suite before we moved into the Cedar Suite for the evening reception. With use of three different rooms throughout the day, there was so little time needed for turning rooms around and the hotel staff made sure everything ran smoothly. The fantastic wedding band, Leo and the Cubs, played two sets during our evening reception. With a mix of rock and indie classics, the dancefloor was packed all night.
The amazing Owen and his team at Little Lillies designed the stunning bouquets, buttonholes, corsages, and table decorations. With a kiwi vine and coconut husk frame, calla lilies, ferns, and orchids, the wedding bouquet was so unique.
We chose a warm woodland feel with plenty of wood, fern and moss, and warm autumnal colours. Careys Manor provided some wonderful decorations to hire to help create the look that we were looking for.
We had a fantastic day! It was surprisingly chilled out and we had such fun surrounded by our closest friends and family. Thanks especially go to our wedding coordinator Francoise and soummelier Michael who helped us personalise our wedding day and made everything run so smoothly.
We have so many wonderful memories of the day... the great speeches accompanied by a rum toast, dancing until we dropped, and midnight snacks in the bridal suite! The day was everything that we hoped for and more. Thank you Careys Manor!
