Hygge New Knightwood Rooms

15th Mar 2017

Our new Knightwood Garden bedrooms are the perfect example of hygge – the delightful Danish word for cosy, intimate and comfortable.

Artisan wool throws from the National Trust and family-run firm, Marquis & Dawe. Furnishings and wallpapers from Colefax & Fowler, Cole & Son and Osborne & Little. And paints made in Dorset from Farrow & Ball.
We have sourced virtually all of our new Knightwood Garden rooms furnishings from UK companies.

We decided to use British suppliers for several reasons. Firstly, because we believe that no one does the British look – perfect for our county manor hotel – better than companies based in the UK. The colours, textures and design ethos match our way of life here; the dark winters and the knowledge that even spring and summer can be a little chilly.

But we also know that buying British supports jobs and the economy in this country, as well as being better for the environment.
And, as the people who run one of the UK’s top spas, we know how important it is for our guests to feel as cosy, warm and relaxed in our hotel as they would at home.
That’s why we’ve invested in water-based paint from Farrow & Ball in Dorset (fewer chemicals in the air), blankets from the National Trust and Marquis & Dawe (a family-run business) and fabrics from Colefax & Fowler for our cushions.

Try out one of our beautiful and cosy new Knightwood bedrooms for yourself and book one of our last minute breaks.
