Meet The Team: Jessica Cleary

Meet Jessica Cleary, our newly appointed Events Sales Manager who will be covering Lauren Bond-Thomas whilst she is on maternity leave having her second child.

Jessica joins us with a wealth of experience within the hospitality and events industry having worked at properties such as Aviator a Hotel by TAG, Grand Harbour Hotel and Rhinefield House.

“I love meeting new people and the thrill you get from seeing a client’s event come to life is what I enjoy the most” says Jessica.

Having moved from the Isle of Wight to Southampton with her twin sister, Jessica began her career in 2007 as a Cruise Representative Consultant at Carnival UK. Talented and ambitious, she went on to develop sales strategies and work with some of the largest travel agents and tour operators in the country.

“I have always been very ambitious in my career and my husband has been a constant source of support. We’ve been married for just over 2 years now and have a beautiful one year old son together called Leo. When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my family and I’m so looking forward to our trip to Jamaica this summer.”

During her time at The Grand Harbour Hotel, Jessica was responsible for the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce annual conference for 60 members that consisted of seminars throughout the day and a sit down lunch.  “It’s really important to me to develop a close relationship with my clients so that they have complete faith in me to deliver an amazing event”.

At Aviator, Jessica managed a two day residential conference for the London branch of British American Tobacco which she deems was a ‘huge success’.  Jessica puts the success down to the accurate communications between the hotel and client, as well as internal communications between the events planning team and the operations team who ensured everything was correct and on time to the client’s schedule. Without organised communications between all parties, events like these would not be possible – something that Jessica prides herself in.

When Jessica isn’t hard at work, she enjoys going to the gym; “staying fit and healthy is really important to me which is why I’m really excited about Careys Manor’s innovative approach to corporate wellness. We were surprised to discover that Jessica is half Swedish, although she has never lived there. “I used to speak fluent Swedish as a child but have unfortunately forgotten a lot since then. My son does get a lot of ‘Swenglish’ at home, but given the time, I would love to improve my language skills”, explains Jessica.
