Spa Manager – SenSpa

Type – Permanent full-time (40 hours per week, including some weekends)

Reports to – General Manager

Location –  SenSpa is an award-winning Thai-inspired spa located at Careys Manor Hotel in the beautiful village of Brockenhurst.  It is here that spa therapy and nature therapy combine to offer a unique New Forest spa experience that focuses on the health of the mind, body and spirit. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Spa Manager to oversee the daily operations, team performance and guest experience within our luxury spa; SenSpa at Careys Manor Hotel in the New Forest, Hampshire.

With a team of around 35 people, 18 treatment rooms and turnover of circa £3m the successful candidate will demonstrate strong and empathetic leadership skills, a sound understanding of spa operations and a genuine passion for creating exceptional guest journeys.

This key management role ensures the smooth running of all spa departments whilst maintaining the highest standards of service, presentation and wellness delivery.

The position is full time (40 hours per week) and will include some weekend/evening working and occasional travel for spa related events.

Main responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations across all spa departments, including treatments, fitness, front of house and retail, ensuring teams are supported and all equipment and guest amenities are readily available.
  • Support the implementation of business and marketing plans to achieve revenue targets and uphold the brand’s wellness ethos.
  • Maintain impeccable standards of guest service, ensuring every visitor enjoys a consistently outstanding and memorable experience.
  • Lead, train and motivate a professional team, fostering engagement, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with the Therapy & Training Manager to ensure treatment and wellness offerings are aligned with guest demand and current wellness trends and that the team are trained accordingly.
  • Liaise with the Spa Operations Manager to ensure Membership targets are reached and that spa maintenance is carried out to a high standard.
  • Monitor departmental budgets and financial performance, supporting cost control and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing team to deliver effective promotions, partnerships and membership programmes.
  • Ensure full compliance with all health, safety and, hygiene, maintaining a pristine and professional environment.
  • Stay informed of industry developments and contribute ideas for service and operational enhancements.

Our ideal applicant

  • Proven management experience within a good sized luxury spa, wellness centre or high end hospitality environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of spa operations, treatment protocols and guest service standards.
  • A holistic outlook and appreciation for natural and organic wellness practices in line with SenSpa’s philosophy.
  • Good financial awareness with experience in budget management and performance reporting.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and support a diverse team.
  • Commercially astute with a strong focus on quality, detail and guest satisfaction.
