Sam & Malcolm’s Elegant New Forest Wedding at Careys Manor Hotel

On the wedding blog today, we’re catching up with Sam and Malcolm, who celebrated their elegant summer wedding at Careys Manor in the New Forest, surrounded by their closest family and friends.

From Colleagues to Soulmates

How did you meet?

We met at work and had an instant attraction but lost in touch with each other. Then 5 years later met again, became friends and the rest was history. We knew meeting again was our sign to be together.

Tell us about your engagement . . .

After being together for a year, Malcolm proposed during my birthday dinner.

Finding New Forest wedding venue Careys Manor Hotel

Malcolm used to drive past Careys Manor all the time for work, and we both fell in love with the beautiful venue. Nothing else compared, and after visiting a wedding fair, we knew it was the perfect choice.

The Details That Made Our Day

The food

We chose the menu because it offered a good variety to suit different tastes. It was fantastic when we sampled it and just as impressive on the day, with many guests commenting on how delicious everything was.

The cake

The cake was made by Karen Cake Couture and we chose two tiers; one was Victoria sponge whilst the other was raspberry flavoured. Both were delicious and the cake was stunning!

The photographer

We chose our photographer, Az from Lemontree Photography, because he was so down to earth. He understood that we’re more ‘in the moment’ people than staged, and he made the day feel relaxed and fun. We hardly even noticed him, yet he captured all the special moments we didn’t get to see ourselves

The styling & flowers

We wanted a simple and elegant style to complement the venue. The green vines and architectural features inspired our vision, and we chose flowers and décor that matched the building. Our florists at Exclusively Weddings brought it to life beautifully, creating the look we had dreamed of for our day.

The outfits

The suits for the men were from Mos Bros, keeping with our simple and elegant style. The bride’s dress was from Anya Boutique, chosen for both its elegance and comfort, perfect for a warm day.

The entertainment

Your DJ provided the music and Photobooth for the evening which is so nice to look back on and see the fun guests had.

Trust the venue, the wedding co-ordinators and suppliers. We had nothing to worry about and were allowed to relax. Nothing was to much. It was perfect!
