Real Weddings – Isabella & Samuel
Having met through their Army career, Isabella and Samuel married at Hampshire wedding venue Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa in January 2023. We caught up with the couple to see how their special day went ….
How did you meet?
“Sam and I met in November 2020 through the army. I got posted to Bulford military camp where Sam was tasked with showing me around. We then started dating the following January right before we deployed out to America for 4 months.”
The Proposal
“On January 28th 2022 Sam and I were out celebrating our first anniversary with a nice, fancy meal out where he proposed. This was then followed by an even fancier McFlurry to celebrate our engagement! We then found out we were expecting our first child just after a month of getting engaged.”
Finding Hampshire Wedding Venue Careys Manor & SenSpa
“As Sam and I are both military and he is from up north and I am from the south we wanted somewhere near where we brought our house so it was half way for our families. Careys Manor was the first venue we found online and we both instantly knew we had to visit as it was stunning! Careys was the first venue we saw out of the handful we picked but as soon as we walked through the manor we knew we were going to be getting married there the following year.”
The Florist & Venue Styling
“We went with one of Careys Manor’s recommended florists Little Lillies. Owen’s work in the Careys Manor brochure immediately caught our eye; the arrangements were stunning and Owen was amazing to work with. The flowers on the day were even better than what we imagined!”
The Food
“We chose the Complete Celebration Package and the included food was absolutely amazing! Our menu tasting, before the wedding, really put us at ease that the food was going to be brilliant. All we could talk about in the lead up to the wedding was the beef cheek and the duck leg!“
The Photographer
“We went with Heartistic who photographed a friends wedding. The pictures and videos they captured were to die for! They really captured their love and happiness.”
The Dresses
“I chose a dress from Bridalway in Ramsgate where my parents live. The dress was decorated with leaves and flowers – perfect for a New Forest wedding! Sam wore his NO1’s military dress and we both had an outfit change for the evening so we could relax and party without worrying about ruining them!”
The Cake
“Our wedding cake was from Fond of Cakes in Salisbury, Georgina was absolutely amazing and got the colour of the cake to match with our navy blue themes perfectly and the cakes and cup cakes were just brilliant”
Entertainment
“We hired Your DJ who are recommended by Careys for the whole day and we are so glad we did! Toby made everything flow so smoothly and took away the stress of the speeches and us trying to get people up onto the dance floor. ”
We would both love to thank the team at Careys Manor. They made the most magical day even more special, we did not have a single worry on the day and everything went so smoothly – we wouldn’t change a thing! We are both really looking forward to coming back for our anniversary next year!
