What’s On in the New Forest Autumn 2025
Aglow in amber and crimson as summer’s green fades, no autumn break in the New Forest National Park is ever the same, and every season brings with it something new.
Autumn here is extra special, with summer’s warmth still lingering, dappled afternoon walks, unforgettable sunsets and then when the cool of the evening comes, it’s inside to relax, swim and dine.
Now is the time to look ahead in excitement to a weekend break or midweek escape to enjoy all that autumn brings in and around our New Forest hotel.
So, what can you look forward to this autumn?
At our New Forest hotel
Ever-growing in popularity, our Sen Sound Sessions continue, with September bringing ‘Root Chakra Healing Under the Harvest Moon’ on Wednesday 24th.
At just £45 per person, embark on an immersive journey through ambient sounds to deeply relax and revitalise. These monthly sessions are timed with each full moon; for September we’re transitioning into the quieter months, so the focus in this session will be on the Root Chakra. This is your energetic foundation, leaving you feeling anchored and nourished for the months ahead.

We have another autumn Sen Sound Session: ‘Release & Flow with the Hunter’s Moon’ on Wednesday 22nd October. After the autumn equinox and the energy of summer, it’s time a shift to a calmer, slower pace as we enter the cooler months. ‘Our focus turns inward, swapping outdoor pursuits for indoor comforts and emotional reflection.’
‘Spend a day among ancient trees, in a manor house shaped by nature and endless love stories.’
Our Hampshire hotel isn’t just a wedding venue; it’s a place that will be forever intertwined in your life’s stories; memories of your day will be told for years to come with warmth and love and we love to play a part in that. On Sunday 5th October, drop in between 12 pm and 4 pm for our Wedding Open Day (no appointment required). Enjoy a glass of prosecco and a chance to explore our beautiful manor house wedding venue, meet our experienced wedding experts and start imagining your big day with us.
You are invited to our Black-Tie Charity Event on Friday 7th November in support of the Royal Southampton Yacht Club Trust.
We support the RSYC Trust because as a local charity it provides on-the-water activities for disadvantaged young people, principally young carers in Hampshire. Founded in 2016, the charity is run by a small group of trustees, offering new skills to more than 150 young carers every year and all whilst relying largely on local and national grants and awards, and fundraising events such as this.
As the evenings draw in, a much-loved pastime as we head into the cooler months is a traditional Afternoon Tea. What better way to spend an afternoon than relaxing over a tower of cakes and sweet treats, delicious finger sandwiches and pots of freshly brewed tea.
You don’t need an occasion to enjoy an afternoon tea; they’re a delightful event just because! And have you heard… We now offer a bottomless afternoon tea… That’s 90 glorious minutes of unlimited Prosecco or Nozecco at your fingertips!
Stay Local
Every season is beautiful here in the New Forest but autumn does hold something special for everyone who visits, especially among the keen walkers. There’s nothing quite like roaming beside our New Forest ponies along winding trails and ancient trees as the leaves change into breath-taking golden hues.
So, perhaps when you plan your autumn break, you’ll consider a day exploring the New Forest on two wheels or on foot. From the doorstep of our Hampshire hotel, you can wander into the forest for just a short stroll or a day hike to a nearby village.
Discover great autumn walks nearby.
During the autumn you can’t miss the pannage season; a vital, ancient practice that dates back to the time of William the Conqueror that’s still honoured today. Around 600 domestic pigs are released to roam freely through the National Park to forage for fallen acorns, chestnuts and beech mast that are toxic for our ponies and cattle. Our hotel guests have long enjoyed setting out on walks to see the pigs snuffling through the woodland.
If you’d like to get out and explore some of the wider areas and villages but you’d prefer to leave your car behind, why not take a New Forest Tour. Only running until 14th September, hop on the New Forest Tour bus whilst you can for spectacular views and scenic stops. Hop on and off, switch routes and bring your bikes too!
For those looking for something creative to do this autumn, look at booking a workshop at Exbury Gardens. Basketmaker, Louise Arthur is holding a Willow Seed Heads Workshop on the 18th September.
How about an autumn digital detox combined with a spa break? It’s the perfect time to put down the technology and ease into the new season feeling calmer and more relaxed. A spa break in the New Forest is a chance to calm the central nervous system, leave the stimulation and distractions of screens at home and begin the autumn as you mean to go on. The Unplugged: Digital Detox Spa Break welcomes you enjoy all that our five-star spa, SenSpa, has to offer – deep relaxation, warmth and time for you.
You needn’t fill your autumn break with back-to-back activities, if all you seek to do is sleep, relax and nourish the body with rest, then we’ll be right here to help you plan your perfect escape!
