Social Media Marketing Intern
Type – Full time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday
Duration: 9 month contract (with potential to extend)
Reports to – Director of Marketing
Location – Careys Manor Hotel, Brockenhurst. Greenclose Hotels Limited is a family owned and operated hotel company with three 4 star hotels and a spa. There are two hotels in the New Forest, The Montagu Arms Hotel in Beaulieu and Careys Manor Hotel in Brockenhurst, also home to the Thai spa, SenSpa. The Imperial Hotel is located in the seaside resort of Llandudno in Wales.
We are looking for a creative and driven Social Media Intern to help expand our online presence and engage with our audience across multiple platforms. This is an exciting and varied role showcasing the core business functions, including rooms, food & beverage, meetings & events, and spa, focusing on maximising revenue, customer engagement and awareness for all products and services associated with Greenclose Hotels.
The Social Media Intern will assist the Senior Marketing Executive in creating, scheduling, and analysing content for our social media channels. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, content creation, and social media strategy. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, creative, and eager to learn about the fast-paced world of social media.
Main Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Assist in developing and scheduling engaging content (e.g., text, images, videos, stories) tailored to each social media platform.
- Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across all social media channels to maintain a strong relationship with our audience.
- Social Media Strategy: Support the Senior Marketing Executive in developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Analytics and Reporting: Track and analyse the performance of social media campaigns using analytics tools; provide insights and suggestions for improvement.
- Research: Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices; research competitors and industry leaders for insights and inspiration.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to align social media content with overall business goals and campaigns.
- General Marketing Support: Assist with website updates, campaigns and promotions where needed.
Our ideal candidate:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (or equivalent) in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Passion for social media and digital marketing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with an eye for design and detail.
- Understanding of major social media platforms.
- Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Google Analytics) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with graphic design and video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut) is a plus.
- Driving licence for travel between the properties
