Get The Look - with FLC Wedding Makeup

25th Mar 2019

It’s an amazing feeling having all your guests on your wedding day look on in awe as you walk down the aisle. This is your special day and looking and feeling your absolute best is so important. From dewy soft tones and contoured complexions to all-out-vintage vibes, a professional makeup artist can help you to achieve just that.

We caught up with owner and Lead Artist, Fiona from FLC Hair & Makeup who shared how she created a ‘Hollywood glamour’ look for our model, Karen.

When meeting with my clients for the first time I love to gain further insight into their wedding themes, colours they love, what the dress is like and more importantly where they are getting married.  All of this plays a huge role in how I create makeup styles for the bride to be.

Careys Manor Hotel is rich in stunning mahogany, deep autumnal colours and sumptuous low lighting, so if you are getting married at this beautiful venue it’s important that your make up stands out without you feeling like you are smothered in products.

1. Prep your skin

It’s so important to prep skin with the best products available. If it’s a super cold day I like to use Sonia Roselli ‘Water Balm’ - a sumptuous product that gives all day moisture without creating any oil or greasiness.

One of my favourite foundations for a glowing Hollywood look is Charlotte Tilbury Magic foundation which gives a luminous healthy look.

2. Gorgeous Smokey eyes

I love this subtle silver eye shadow from Bobbi Brown, smoked out with smudged black kohl pencil, again from Charlotte Tibury. This is perfect for creating gorgeous definition that draws the camera into the eyes. I finished the eyes with Prima Lashes in #168 for a pretty fluttery look.

3. The blushing bride

To add warmth to fair skin, it’s important to not go overboard with bronzer so using Benefits’ Hoola light is perfect, teamed with a peach pink blush to add a fresh faced finish. I love creating stunning highlight in just the right areas, using Charlotte Tilbury’s bar of gold pallet on top of the jaw bone, underneath the brow bone and lightly swept across the cupids bow.

4. Luscious lips

When choosing a lipstick to finish a look, it’s half down to personal preference and half down to skin tone. Fair skin and defined eyes matches perfectly with a strong pink or red, perfect for a dark haired beauty at her winter wedding.

Getting married is an unforgettable moment in your life. Perfect coverage foundation, contouring and concealing will ensure a flawless looking you and photographs that you’ll forever be happy with.
