In Britain, tea became fashionable during the 18th Century, partly due to the growth of English Tea Gardens, which served tea to musical accompaniment.To quell the pangs of hunger that developed between luncheon and dinner, Afternoon Tea was born and brought to us by the Duchess of Bedford in 1840.
At Careys Manor, we continue that tradition by serving Afternoon Tea in the relaxed and elegant surroundings of our Lounge, our beautiful gardens or enchanting restaurant, Cambium.
We are delighted to introduce an exclusive range of premium, artisan and hand-made teas from Camellia’s Tea House.

The selection of twelve teas includes two bespoke signature teas, designed and crafted specifically for Careys Manor Hotel, a Seasonal Tea and nine other delicious, luxurious and exclusive teas for you to select from.

Careys Manor Signature Black Tea

The Carey’s Manor Signature Black Tea Blend is a wonderfully balanced and full-bodied tea which has been created using our finest English breakfast blend and Darjeeling Goomtee. This blend of premium black teas, together with the distinctive muscatel character of the Darjeeling Goomtee, creates a bold infusion with a reddish-brown cup and a pleasant finish characterised by the flowery and subtly spicy undertones.

Ceylon Kenilworth

This Sri Lankan tea estate was created in 1947 by an English pioneer who named it after the famous Kenilworth castle in Warwickshire, England. This particular estate produces one of the highest quality teas in Sri Lanka with beautiful black leaves. The full-bodied infusion is a dark-red with an earthy, spicy flavour.

Darjeeling Goomtee

Goomtee is ranked among the top gardens in the Darjeeling district, India and produces luscious green leaves with hues ranging from oaky-brown to light green. This tea offers a deliciously smooth and refreshing cup with distinctive muscatel character.

Earl Grey

Earl Grey is one of the most widely drunk teas in the world. Its distinct flavour is a result of combining high quality Chinese black tea and oil of bergamot, originally used to protect the flavour from mould and tar during long sea voyages. This beautifully scented tea with its flowery and citrusy flavour remains the embodiment of the finest English tea.

Chocolate Tea

The unmistakable flavour of chocolate without all the calories! A medium bodied blend of Chinese and Ceylon black teas that has been combined with chocolate chips and coconut to produce a wonderfully light black tea with a strong aroma and undertones of chocolate.

Green Mint

A truly invigorating tea, which combines the strength of a high-quality China Gunpowder tea with the delightful sweetness and aroma of premium peppermint leaves. This Gold Taste Award winning tea offers a bold and stimulating, but well-balanced cup which will awaken all your senses.

Cambium White Fusion Tea

This is a truly delightful fusion tea, which merges the lightness of white tea with the sweetness of luscious apricots and the zing of orange peels. The golden cup also offers hints of spiciness from ginger and cinnamon, and a lingering finish of liquorice. The floral undertones of marigold, mullein flowers and yellow rose buds add to the complexity of this blend, creating a wonderfully fragrant and revitalising tea.

White Apricot

A Gold Taste Award winning fusion tea that combines the refined character of a white tea with the honey like sweetness of apricot pieces. The flowery undertones of marigold and rose round of the flavour, creating a truly delightful and refreshing tea.

Zest Tea

This is a delicate and refreshing herbal tea which is believed to benefit the digestive system, but also to have a general soothing and calming effect on the body. It contains lemongrass, lemon peel and ginger and is marked by a tangy aroma and an invigorating lemon flavour with a spicy finish.

Very Berry

An exciting, pure fruit tea consisting of a wide selection of berries and a few other dried fruit, such as papaya. The deep red cup is characterized by a vivid fruitiness and a pleasing sweetness that is balanced by the tart hints of hibiscus. A must for all berry lovers!


Rooibos originates from South Africa, where it has been appreciated for many generations. This high grade, organic red tea is characterized by a bright red cup and a creamy sweetness with a fruity aftertaste. A caffeine-free alternative to tea, rooibos is also packed with minerals and vitamins.
